I am amazed at how good this mic sounds. I just did some casual testing of it against the other solid-state condensers I have-- a Karma K-35 (which got a very favorable review in TapeOp last issue and which just arrived here today) and a BLUE Blueberry.

I tested the mics side by side, as closely placed as possible . I tested them first through the pres on my Mackie Onyx, then through a Safe Sound P1, and then through a Universal Audio m610 and into the P1 for the compression. The MK-219 PE blew the K-35 completely away and sounded kind of similar to the Blueberry (these go for a grand new), but more neutral-- less hyped in the highs and upper mids.

I got the Blueberry to be my go-to vocal mic, and I can see myself using it as such for certain singers (it pairs well with the m610), but after a few minutes of testing, I'm pretty sure I'm going to use the MK-219 PE for my vocals from now on.

Thanks again! I'll drop you a line when I get something recorded well with this mic and for now I will spread the word on the messageboards! Cheers
