Pull into the shop for a tranny swap!
The OktavaMod ML-52 modification for your ribbon mic swaps in my custom-designed, American made output tranny next to the Russian ribbon motor for better performance.
First, the inner headbasket screen is removed to extend top and bottom response and reduce internal headbasket standing waves that can tend to sound "boxy on some sources". Then the wind blast / HF resonance filters are removed to smooth and extend the high frequency response. Heavier gauge signal wires are installed to reduce signal loss and movement-induced distortion. Finally, a specialty Lundahl ribbon transformer is installed for a dramatic improvement in HF response, low frequency headroom and mid-range clarity.
